The 7th IFIP Wireless and Mobile Networking
Conference (WMNC 2014) combines PWC (Personal Wireless Communications
conference), MWCN (Mobile and Wireless Communication Networks conference), and
WSAN (Wireless Sensors and Actor Networks conference) into one event.
The organization of WMNC 2014 was very good since everything worked smoothly and the organization was excellent. There was very interesting papers in the wireless communications area with two main focuses (a) routing protocols in the WSNs area and (b) energy efficiency in the mobile and wireless communications area. The second keynote presentation from Stefan Mangold of the Disney research labs in Zurich was very interesting and novel. Last but not least, beside the good quality of papers and posters, most of the presentations were also very good and easy to follow. The overall impression is that WMNC is a good target conference for people that are working on WSNs and wireless communication area. The acceptance rate is close to 30%. What could be improved in the conference content-wise are more papers regarding security issues in the wireless communications area as well. The partners of the SmartenIT project were proud to contribute to WMNC 2014 with one paper in the short paper session: C. Tsiaras1, A. Sehgal2, S. Seeber3, D. Dönni1, B. Stiller1, J.
