A talk "Gamification Framework for Personalized Surveys on Relationships in Online Social Networks" was given by Michael Seufert at the First Workshop on Crowdsourcing and Gamification in the Cloud (CGCloud) 2013 in Dresden, Germany (associated with 6th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Utility and Cloud Computing UCC 2013).

Meeting Objectives: The aim of the workshop was to bring together researchers and technicians to share their experiences and requirements in the domains of crowdsourcing, gamification and cloud computing. It should especially foster discussions between researchers working in technical and non-technical fields to carve out the manifold aspects and perspectives on this highly inter-disciplinary field and to stimulate collaborative work towards highly reusable cloud based solutions for crowdsourcing and gamification as a Service.

Meeting Outcome: The CGCloud workshop discussed what incentives are provided by game-design elements. Major problems in this area are how to design the appropriate game-design element, how to evaluate the effect of a specific element and how to assess the success of a gamification design. Moreover new crowdsourcing approaches and applications were presented and discussed.

Meeting Impact on SmartenIT: UniWue presented its gamification approach to assess subjective properties of relationships which will be input to socially-aware traffic management solutions. The workshop discussed the gamification approach presented by UniWue, and proposed new approaches to attract a larger user base in order to increase the result quality.
