Within the external laision with EU project FLAMINGO investigations about secure and efficient solutions for constraint networks for data publishing and access are performed by UZH members. An overview article was accepted by ERCIM News No. 101 for the special issue "The Internet of Things and The Web of Things" and published under the title "Secure and Efficient Wireless Sensor Networks".

Abstract:
Today, a multitude of implemented as well as envisioned use cases for the Internet-of-Things (IoT) and Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) exists. For a certain set of those scenarios it is desirable to make the data collected globally accessible: (a) To authorized users only and (b) to data processing units through the Internet. Naturally, much of the data collected, such as location or personal identifiers, are of a highly sensitive nature. Even seemingly inconspicuous data (e.g., energy consumption) can lead to potential infringements of the users’ privacy. [More see pp. 18/19]
